Participants are required to be present for the entire class, and may not attend late, or leave early. Certificates will only be issued to those participants who are logged in through WebEx and who are present for the entire program as no partial credit hours will be given. At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to do the following:

1. Identify at least 2 ways in which stigma is behaviorally expressed.

2. Identify at least 2 harmful effects of stigma on people with mental illness.

3. Identify at least 3 ways in which professionals can act to reduce the detrimental effects of stigma.

The New York State Office of Mental Health’s Bureau of Psychiatric Services & Research Institute Support is accredited by the Medical Society of the State of New York to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
